I believe that great wine is the product of a communion between a land, a climate, and a human being. It is also a labor of love, patience and generosity. My relationship and work with wine follows this same philosophy. Part of what I love about wine is that pairing it with food is more art than science. Let me be your sommelier. I had the opportunity through my business network to meet a group of wine fanatics who scour the globe in search of small, artisanal, mostly organic wineries with great wines that respects the land, encouraging the optimal expression of the fruit that grows on it. The world of wine is changing very quickly: consumption is on the rise, and the race for global wine brands has begun. In this era of standardization, simplification and marketing, it is a breath of fresh air that these guys really operate from passion, and are interested in quality rather than quantity. They say things like "terroir" and "micro-climate" with alarming ease and frequency. I liken their portfolio to a Farmer's Market for wines: a very small chain from the fruit to your glass.
